This Privacy Policy describes how RetroWave (retrowave.com.au, the "Site" or "we") collects, uses and discloses your personal information when you visit the Site, join the waitlist, reserve a watch or make a purchase. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles where they apply to us.
Collecting Personal Information
When you visit the Site, we collect certain information about your device, your interaction with the Site, and the information needed to process reservations and purchases. We may also collect additional information if you contact us for support. In this Privacy Policy, we refer to any information that can identify an individual (including the information below) as "personal information". See the list below for what we collect and why.
Waitlist Information
- Examples of personal information collected: your email address and the watch colour you pick.
- Purpose of collection: to email you launch news, including the launch date and your link to buy, and to understand how many watches of each colour to make.
- Source of collection: collected from you when you join the waitlist.
- Disclosure for a business purpose: shared with our processor Shopify.
You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link at the bottom of every email, or by emailing us.
Device Information
- Examples of personal information collected: version of web browser, IP address, time zone, cookie information, what pages you view, search terms, and how you interact with the Site.
- Purpose of collection: to load the Site accurately for you, and to perform analytics on Site usage to improve the Site.
- Source of collection: collected automatically when you access the Site using cookies, log files, web beacons, tags or pixels.
- Disclosure for a business purpose: shared with our processor Shopify.
Reservation And Order Information
- Examples of personal information collected: name, billing address, shipping address, payment information, email address and phone number.
- Purpose of collection: to provide reservations and products to you, process your payment, arrange shipping, send invoices and confirmations, communicate with you, screen for potential risk or fraud, and, in line with the preferences you have shared with us, send you information about our products.
- Source of collection: collected from you.
- Disclosure for a business purpose: shared with our processor Shopify and with the payment provider you choose at checkout.
We do not see or store your full card details. Payments are processed by the payment provider you choose at checkout.
Minors
The Site is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not intentionally collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us to request deletion.
Sharing Personal Information
We share your personal information with service providers to help us provide our services and fulfil our contracts with you, as described above. For example, we use Shopify to power our online store. Some of these providers store information outside Australia, including in Canada and the United States. We take reasonable steps to make sure they protect it to a standard comparable to the Australian Privacy Principles.
We may also share your personal information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.
Advertising And Analytics
We may use your personal information to show you advertising or send you marketing we believe may interest you. We may use advertising and analytics tools, such as the Pinterest tag and Shopify analytics, to understand how visitors use the Site and to measure our advertising.
You can opt out of some targeted advertising through the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out portal at http://optout.aboutads.info/, and you can manage cookies in your browser settings.
Using Personal Information
We use your personal information to provide our services to you, which includes running the waitlist, taking reservations, offering products for sale, processing payments, shipping and fulfilling your order, and keeping you up to date on the launch and new products.
Retention
We keep your personal information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete it, or until it is no longer needed for the purpose we collected it for, subject to any legal requirement to keep it.
Automated Decision-Making
We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have a legal or similarly significant effect on you.
Our processor Shopify uses limited automated decision-making to prevent fraud that does not have a legal or otherwise significant effect on you. This includes a temporary denylist of IP addresses associated with repeated failed transactions, which lasts a small number of hours, and a temporary denylist of credit cards associated with denylisted IP addresses, which lasts a small number of days.
Your Rights
You can ask to access the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct, update or delete it. To make a request, email us at sales@retrowave.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable time.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the rights given to you under the GDPR. If you are a California resident, you have the rights given to you under the CCPA. Contact us using the details below to use them.
Cookies
A cookie is a small amount of information that is downloaded to your computer or device when you visit the Site. Cookies make your browsing experience better by letting the Site remember your actions and preferences, so you do not have to re-enter them each time you return or move from one page to another. They also tell us how people use the Site, for instance whether it is their first visit.
